Network Cabling

Are you planning to move to a new home or office, expand your existing network or upgrade your network to a higher speed? We provide the data and phone wiring design and installation you need to connect all your devices including computers, IP phones, printers, copiers, wireless access points, IP security cameras, and the Internet of Things. We install CAT6, CAT6A and fiber optic network wiring for residential, commercial, and industrial locations. All our network wiring is installed according to state approved National Electric Codes and the latest TIA/EIA-568 standards. To ensure compliance, we test all our network wiring and provide a report that guarantees your network cabling will perform the way it’s manufactured to function.

How do you know what network cabling you need with so many options available?

CAT6 Network Cabling

CAT6 or category 6 network cabling is a twisted pair copper cable very commonly used in most business environments. CAT6 cabling comes in a variety of configurations for different environments such as general, riser, plenum, shielded, non-shielded, outdoor, direct burial and the latest, limited power cable. For most network infrastructure installations, CAT6 will do. The majority of our installations use CAT6 network drops.

Benefits of CAT6 cable:

  • Bandwidth/speed – max data speeds of 10 Gbps (Gigabits per second) up to 55 meters (180ft). For distances up to 100 meters (328ft), the maximum speed is limited to 5 Gbps.
  • Compatibility – the standard connectors and jacks used for CAT6 cabling are compatible with all standard network interface used in network devices.
  • Size – Usually smaller diameter then CAT6a which allows more cables to be installed in tight spaces
  • Costs – Usually costs significantly less than CAT6a and fiber optics.

CAT6a Network Cabling

CAT6a or Category 6 augmented network cabling is an improved version of CAT6 twisted pair copper cable and is becoming the go-to option for enterprise business environments. We recommend CAT6A if you plan to have a 10 Gbps network environment and have a large space. Also, if you are installing network cabling where it is cost prohibitive to re-run new cable in the future, then CAT6a network cabling is the way to go.

Benefits of CAT6A cable:

  • Bandwidth/speed – max data speeds of 10 Gbps (Gigabits per second) up to 100 meters (328ft).
  • Compatibility – the standard connectors and jacks used for CAT6 cabling are compatible with all standard network interface used in network devices.
  • Costs – Usually costs less than fiber optics.

Fiber Optic Cabling

Due to the limitation in distance and speed of copper wiring, fiber optic cabling is the standard used for backbone cabling installations such as interconnecting buildings, server rooms and telecom closets. Also, its widely used to connect Wireless Access Points, IP Cameras or any other network device that needs to go beyond the 300ft maximum distance of copper cabling.

Benefits of Fiber Optic cabling:

  • Distance – Can carry signals for almost 25 miles
  • Greater Bandwidth/speed – max data speeds of up to 100 Gbps currently and growing
  • Interference – Signal is not susceptible to electromagnetic interference, or interference from high voltage wiring or lightning strikes.

Network Wiring Certification

Is your current network wiring causing performance problems on your network?

Do you know if your network cabling was installed properly?

Does your client require all your CAT6 or CAT6a network cabling to be certified and provide a certification report?

Then let us take the guesswork out of the equation. Our technicians are ready to test and certify all your current network cabling and provide you with the Network Wiring Certification Report you need to pinpoint problems caused by your current network wiring.

All our installations of CAT6/CAT6a network are tested using a Level 3 certified cable tester to guarantee compliance. At the end of the project, we provide a Network Wiring Certification Report that guarantees all network cabling fully complies with the latest TIA/EIA-568 standards. This eliminates any guess work about the functionality or performance of your network cabling when troubleshooting network problems.

Fiber gigabit testing

We test all our fiber installations and provide Gigabit performance testing on passive fiber cabling and active networks. We also provide network traffic performance tests on fiber to IEEE802.3ab standard, Gigabit link verification for fiber networks and optical power readings.

All this information is provided on a Fiber Test Report for your convenience.
